So, here we are a month into this project (yes, I do hear this sentence in Bono's voice from Rattle & Hum). If the definition of a habit is doing something every day, then the blog has become a habit for me, and that’s a good thing. I wanted to write more regularly, and I am. I must confess that I haven’t written every day, there were a couple of times I wrote two in one day and saved them up, which means that I have posted something every day. I actually would like to get several posts ahead of where I am, just in case of emergencies, but I have to find the time to do that ahead of everything else I want to do.
A month of posts (this is number 31). With this and the rankings explanation being unranked, and having done three non-songs (two books and a video), I’m at 26 songs for the month. That’s a little ahead of where I need to be, because the band has roughly 250 songs, which means I should be doing about 21 songs a month. So I need to fit in a few more non-song posts (like this one) to get back in balance. Figuring out what else to write about is kind of fun.
This month I seem to have skewed a little toward the ends of the ratings, having more high and low numbers than those in the middle. I originally sorted the songs and had a fairly nice bell curve, so it’s weird to not follow that in the short term. I guess that means there’ll be more average stuff coming up. And I got one of the 10s done early on, which was a surprise.
Here’s everything I reviewed this month, along with the ratings I gave them:
